Pay to Volunteer with SOS Children’s Villages of India
SOS Children’s Villages of India would like to extend a personal thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers that have taken out time to understand the main aim and objective behind pay-to-volunteer with our organisation.
What is ‘pay-to-volunteer’ work?
In our country, people are naturally opposed to paying money only for contributing their time and skill. In fact, not everyone is willing to give financial support required for such kind of endeavors. However, for every volunteer it's important to understand the purpose of such programs. They should understand how the programs are organized, what they do for society and how their contribution is used for the same.
Why does volunteering need money?
Volunteering costs money because when people come to volunteer, expenses are incurred. Volunteers need food, equipment, local staff to provide program orientation, safety management, and overall structure of the work to be done. Some people believe that you should only volunteer for free. However, if you aren't paying, then the organization that you are volunteering with must pay those expenses. SOS India being one of the nonprofits, raises funding (income) through donations, grants, and program fees, making it impossible to pay for the expenses of volunteering events/projects.
Why should you ‘pay-to-volunteer’ with SOS India?
Settling over four generations of once parentless or abandoned children of the country, SOS Children's Villages of India has served for over 50 years till now. Along with providing long-term care, SOS India also provides support to families in adverse conditions as a part of its Family Strengthening Programme. The aim of this programme is to empower biological parents under trying conditions to strengthen their capacities for their children. If you choose to ‘pay-to-volunteer’ with SOS India your contribution will be used as a donation for the betterment of underprivileged children of our country.
