Four specially abled girls Kiran, Vidushi, Diksha and Dulfisha from SOS Children’s Villages of India were selected to participate in the Special Olympics, World Winter Games, 2017, which were held in Austria. The games were held from 14th-25th of March. While Diksha, Dulfisha and Kiran participated in the event of Floor Hockey, Vidushi was part of the Indian Floor Ball team. Our four champions are now back from world winter games with medals and laurels; SOS has never been prouder. Three of our girls i.e Kiran, Diksha and Dulfisha have won a Bronze medal in Team Floor Hockey event. Vidushi, on the other hand was adjudged as the best player of Floor Ball event at Special Olympics.

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”

While Diksha belongs to SOS Latur, Dulfisha comes from SOS Jaipur. The remaining two girls, Kiran and Vidushi are from SOS Khajuri Kalan. Sports have always been a driving force in the lives of these sports stars. Fighting all obstacles, these young women did not let anything hinder their journey to success. With all their dedication and hard work, these girls overcame their disabilities and have won over them in the most heroic manner. It is a moment of immense joy for the SOS India family and we hope our children keep climbing the ladder of success in future.
