SOS Children’s Villages of India is the first ever NGO to be awarded as a Superbrand

SOS Children’s Villages of India is the first ever NGO to be invited and winning in the Business Superbrands circle along with brands like American Express, Apollo Hospitals, Anchor, Yes Bank, Vodafone and many more.
The fifth edition of the Business Superbrands was presented by Superbrands India on March 24th, 2017 in New Delhi. The event marked the 10th release of the Superbrands Book in India in the Consumer and Business Superbrands series. Prior to the awards being given away at the grand finale, 1,100 brands were screened and rated against its proprietary six-point mark on a scale of one to ten. Eventually 33 brands were narrowed down and were announced as the Winners of the Business Superbrands 2017.

The Award Ceremony was launched with a welcome note by Mr. Anmol Dar, Managing Director of Superbrands India Private Limited, where he extended a warm welcome to all the awardees and dignitaries present at the event. The evening was dedicated to the cause of children in need of care and protection and taking the underprivileged sections of society forward. Superbrands India aligned itself with SOS India this year. Ms. Anuja Bansal, Secretary General of SOS India was invited to address the august gathering of CXOs and CEOs, where she briefed the gathering about SOS Children’s Villages and its two Flagship Programmes: Family Based Care (FBC) and Family Strengthening Programme (FSP).

She added, “There are 20 million children who need urgent help at this point of time. No government or any NGO can help these children in totality. The only way by which we can take care of our 20 million children who have lost parental care is if the citizens of this country start to contribute. These children do not need charity. They need your support to find them opportunities and a level playing ground which will give them the space to succeed”.

During the glittering event, a short documentary on SOS Children’s Villages of India was screened in order to provide a better understanding of its work to the audience. To highlight support to the cause, Anshika and Kanishka, two girls from SOS Village Bawana were invited to present the awards to the CEOs and representatives of the 33 brands awarded that evening. Top performers in sports, both the girls were able to spread joy amongst the audience.

“This evening is a tribute to these girls and a way of saying ‘Welcome to this world’”, added Mr. Anmol Dar.
