SOS Children’s Village Youth Andrew receives President's Award

Andrew Lyngdoh of SOS Chidren’s Village Shilong has received President Award for Bharat Scout & Guide from Hon'ble President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapti Bhawan on December 5, 2016.

Four Children of SOS CV Shillong were selected for this prestigious award. Three children namely Ibadondor Rajee, Lucy Lyngdoh, Kyntiakmon Jyrwa of SOS CV Shillong and one youth Andrew Lyngdoh of Youth House 1 were selected for the President Award for Bharat Scout & Guide for the year 2015. Ibadondor Rajee and Andrew were selected to participate in the award ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan on December 5, 2016. Andrew received the award personally with another awardee guide of Meghalaya.  On this occasion President Pranab Mukherjee said “We must collectively preserve the core values of pluralism, compassionate coexistence and secularism that have served, over the years, to safeguard the fabric of our society.”
Andrew, a student of class 8th, aims to become a commercial pilot while Ibadondor (Class 11th) wishes to be a successful dentist. Lucy has ambitions to be an architect. Kyntiak, currently pursuing BBA from a reputed college of Shillong, intends to be an HR professional after doing MBA.
Bharat Scouts & Guides, commonly known as BSG is national scouting and guiding association of India recognized by Government of India. BSG has over 5.7 million members across India.
