SOS India celebrates Independence Day with Alliance of Riding Knight at SOS Village Alibaug

Independence Day celebrations in SOS Village Alibaug filled the hearts of children with joy and happiness.

To mark the 70th anniversary of India’s independence, SOS Children’s Villages of India joined hands with Alliance of Riding Knights to celebrate together the festivity of freedom.A trip by the members of the Alliance of Riding Knights was undertaken to the SOS Village Alibaug on August 15, 2017, where all riders started from Kalamboli at 6:00 am and reached the village at 9:00 am. The aim of riding together and carry out this mass movement was to sensitise people towards the cause of providing a loving home for every child. The bikers got to spend time at the SOS Village Alibaug and for children, the day turned out to be happy and cheerful.

On this special occasion, Ms. Anuja Bansal, Secretary General of SOS Children’s Villages of India said,

“The foundation of nurturing children without parental care and strengthening families is to provide them with a loving upbringing in a secure environment so they can celebrate their freedom and entitled rights. This Independence Day, we at SOS India, urge all stakeholders to spread the word that no child deserves to grow up alone”. I thank Alliance of Riding Knights for their efforts in supporting our commitment to reach out to many more children in need.”

We also have a few words spoken by a rider who joined us at the event. He says,

We all joined our hands and came together to make the event successful. I am thankful to SOS India for inviting us to be part of this great cause that makes you feel so positive from within. We spend money for things which do not pay us back every time but here, we got the sweetest payback ever. The take away for the day were the smiles on the faces of children at the end of the day. Looking at them, I found my reflection in them when I used to be at their age. In spite of technology making its way these days, there are so many immaterial things to think about. For me, the best part of the day was when I learnt about how all the kids stay together, eat together and celebrate all festivities together. This is the true definition of unity which binds us all in the same thread. Out of the many things that caught us at SOS Village Alibaug, seeing the emotions, happiness and respect amongst all children, mothers and co-workers won our hearts.
I thank all riders who joined me by donating or riding at the venue. I wish to have many more such wonderful experiences in life. I am short of words to express myself in the best manner but I know that I am very proud of you all.

Sincere thanks from my end for making me a part of this day!
