SOS India in Partnership with DHL India Works at Empowering Underprivileged Youth

The collaboration that works towards uplifting young boys and girls from disadvantaged backgrounds

SOS Children’s Villages of India in collaboration with DHL Express aims towards empowering vulnerable youth coming from the weaker sections of society through Project Kaushalya. The focus is to impart in them the necessary employable skills in order to equip them with job opportunities and to help them become self-sufficient, contributing members of society.The Vocational Training Centre (VTC) was initiated by SOS Children’s Villages of India at Nizamuddin, New Delhi in 2011. Training is given to youth between the ages of 18-25 years. Till date, while 1239 youth have been enrolled in the programme since inception, 853 are through with their course already. Out of these 852, 725 (84%) are now employed and tied up with well-known industries and companies. The courses offered by the VTC are recognized and approved by the Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGE&T) under the Skills Development Initiatives- Modular Employability Scheme (SDI-MES), Government of India. Below given are the courses offered:

COURSE/MODULEDURATION
1. Accounting Assistance using Tally500 hrs.
2. DTP and Print Publishing500 hrs.
3. Web Designing and Publication1000 hrs.
4. Soft Skills for Supervisors/Associates180 hrs.

 In addition to the above ICT based courses, the VTC also provides additional 100 hours of training on Soft and Entrepreneurial Skills (SES) as mandated by DGE&T. Our aim is to uplift and empower 230 youth by providing them job oriented skills to ensure future security. We work towards achieving 80% job placements for our youth.
