Swati Thakur came to SOS Children’s Village Rajpura in 1997 at the age of six. Hard working since the beginning, she believed in productively using her time each day. While she completed her secondary school education i.e. class 10 with excellence, she passed the 12th standard under the CBSE Board in 2010 with 66% and made her family prouder than ever!

After completing her schooling, Swati did a Diploma in Architecture and even topped the Government College of Architecture, Chandigarh, in the year 2013. She kick started her career in the architecture industry by joining a small firm in Chandigarh first and later moved to Mumbai for better future prospects. Currently, she is working with a well-known multinational company based in Mumbai. She is one of the best performers in her team and even enjoys her work. Additionally, Swati also got recently married and is happy with her new family.

Her unceasing courage and determination helped her to convert all her obstacles into wonderful opportunities. Additionally, as she says, the support and encouragement provided by SOS Children’s Villages of India propelled her all along the way. Today, she nurtures her familial ties and bonds with her SOS mother and siblings.

Swati says, “I am really thankful to SOS India for transforming my life and of my brothers and sisters. Without this love and support that I received from my SOS Family, I would have never been able to make it this far. For me, SOS India is not just and organization but a family in all sense!”

SOS India is very proud of Swati!
