    Purpose:

    The purpose of this position is to independently anchor submission of reports to our donors.     3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for instituting robust financial systems and for the organisation, particularly in terms of financial planning, management, reporting, cost management and controls. This position has a key role to play in aligning the finance function with strategy and supporting on-ground execution. The CFO will be expected to take the lead in enforcing strong financial discipline and cost control measures with appropriate risk management systems to maximise the potential of funds contributed and optimize the spends.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Business and financial strategy and planning, monitoring, management and reporting as per local and SOS International requirements. This includes management and development of policies, systems, processes and personnel involved;
    • Reporting and accounting as per regulatory and legal requirements including taxation, FCRA, annual reporting and accounts;
    • Financial staff management, motivation, training, recruitment and selection;
    Other Areas of Contribution/ Responsibility:
    • Manage company insurance, licensing, contracts and agreements, legal areas and activities, corporate level negotiations;
    • Ensure adequate internal controls across all operating and financial processes of the organization to minimize/ eliminate the risks arising out of fraud, misappropriation or mismanagement;
    • Install cost management and control techniques/ tools to facilitate optimization of administrative expenses across the organization and thus enhance funds for program needs;
    • Create and manage a robust MIS reporting process covering all the operational and administrative needs of the organization;
    • Ensure financial compliance as per statutory and legal requirements;
    • Safeguard the assets (immovable, moveable and liquid funds) of the organization and maximize the returns on investment;

    Specific Deliverables:
    • Responsible for funds control and allocation of funds for programs and schools including conditions governing their use;
    • Participate in business and financial strategy and planning, including monitoring, management and reporting (both local and international);
    • Help develop policies, guidelines, systems, processes and SOPs in all financial areas and ensure their proper management;
    • Develop and implement financial reporting guidelines and formats across different functions and levels of the organization;
    • Responsible for planning, thorough analysis and preparation of budget and submission to SOS-KDI on time;
    • Ensure strict adherence to statutory laws and regulations;
    • Responsible for co-ordination with projects on financial aspects;
    • Develop audit programs, plan the audits (internal as well as statutory, and including special assignments), plan audit resources (both internal and external), engage external resources following proper, due diligent processes and Finance Audit Committee (FAC)/ Board/ Trust approval, ensuring the timely reporting and escalation of important issues, if any;
    • Responsible for timely and accurate compilation and submission of desired financial reports to the FAC, Board, Trust and General Body;
    • Responsible for investment of all idle cash as directed by the Governing Body/ Board/ Trust;
    • Periodic verification and tagging of all assets of the organization;
    • Coordinate with Projects/ Programs function for all financial aspects, and their risk analysis including mitigation and monitoring;
    • Overall management of co-workers in the finance team including Recruitment, Team Building, Assessing the training needs of the co-workers, facilitating their training programs, motivating them to improve efficiency and being responsible for their performance enhancement in coordination with HR;
    • Liaise with other functions and departments and serve as their financial advisor wherever and whenever required;

SOSCVI has already embarked on a large organizational change initiative to address the above and steering this complex exercise and its multiple components, shall be a key responsibility for the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO).

    The CHRO is a part of the senior management team and reports to the CEO. The purpose and objective, key accountabilities and detailed job responsibilities for the position are discussed in subsequent paragraphs.

    • Managing HR operations.
    • Taking HR Automation to next level to streamline processes.
    • Developing leadership, succession planning and people capabilities for enabling organizational objectives and effectiveness.

    • Managing HR Operations: Hiring, talent management, succession planning,PMS, Disciplinary & legal issues, Statutory Compliances and other compliances and employee engagement.
    • HR Systems and Processes: enhancing HR automation enabling the tracking of key HR metrics and improved people management.
    • Learning and Development: Developing the key competencies that enable individuals to perform current or future roles.

    Detailed Responsibilities

    • ensure effective implementation of HR policies laid down (including recruitment and selection policy/ practices, discipline, grievance, counseling, pay and conditions (C&B), contracts, training and development, succession planning, morale and motivation, , performance appraisals, and quality management issues);
    • Ensure maintenance of appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of HR development;

    Qualification and Experience
    • Post-graduate in business admin HR or Social work with specialisation in HR from a reputed institution;
    • About 15 years of experience in HR;
    • At least seven years of prior experience in leading the HR function in a medium size organisation (1000 employees);
    • Experience of implementing people management systems, processes and practices (with emphasis on increased automation), for reputed and well-managed organizations;
    • Experience of managing white and blue collar workers will be required.
