Deputy National Director

1. Deputy National Director – Family Strengthening Programme, SOS Children’s Villages of India (SOSCVI), New Delhi

2. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Deputy National Director – Family Strengthening Programme (DND-FSP) shall be responsible for driving programme development in
the areas of Family and Community Development, in line with the “Vision, Mis­sion, Values,” strategies, policies, and plans of the
organisation and government legislation. S/he shall periodically review government policies, legislation and strategies on family
strengthening (FS), and ensure that all FS initiatives of the organisation strictly adhere to them.

As a member of the National Management Team, s/he shall contribute to setting and reaching the strategic objectives and targets of the organisation in the area of FS and monitor and evaluate progress towards their achievement. Specifically, s/he shall drive accomplishment of the Strategy 2030 Goal for FSP of reaching out to 80,000 children in the community by developing the initiative as a high impact, low cost, sustainable programme.

S/he shall provide technical expertise and support to the FS co­ordinators at different locations, in planning, implementing, and monitoring programme interventions. The DND-FS shall also be responsible for introducing and monitoring the implementation of quality standards for FS.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of National FS Strategy and Plans, in cooperation with FS co-workers and stakeholders;
  • Implement SOSCVI FS Strategy 2030 for promoting the holistic development of children, gender equality and women’s economic empowerment, through livelihood strengthening initiatives, at the national and provincial levels;
  • Implement employable skill building of the youth in the community for job placement;
  • Ensure appropriate programme design and delivery, as well as finding potential partners, at the national and provincial levels;
  • As a key member of the Senior Executive Team, make a leading contribution to overall strategy and organizational development of SOSCVI, by strengthening coordination and collaboration within and across teams, and institutionalizing culture and planned strategies;
  • Lead the implementation of RBM (Result Based Management) for the FS programme
  • Institutionalize strong systems and processes, including programme execution and automate processes wherever appropriate, for efficiency and effectiveness. This shall include rolling-out of newer initiatives or pilot projects;
  • Develop and implement new models of childcare in communities;
  • Collaborate with DND FDC and DND Finance, and their teams, for developing synergized childcare plans, conducting research, studying the feasibility of new projects and leading innovation and the use of technology to continuously enhance efficiencies of the FS programme;
  • Collaborate with the Federation for strengthening the FSP programme at SOSCVI, as well as across the Federation;
  • Develop linkages at the regional, national and international levels for strengthening FSP implementation, and designing and delivering high impact community interventions;
  • Develop relationships with key external and internal stakeholders like government agencies, other NGOs, Zonal FSP Directors, all functional heads and others;
  • Build and develop a high-performance team;
  • Ensure comprehensive technology adoption throughout the programme and its operations;
  • Help develop training tools and strategic plans that facilitate the achievement of programme objectives;
  • Assist the Project Manager to prepare detailed work plans, schedules and budgets for the programme;
  • Provide technical support for strengthening capacity for the delivery of economic and social services to stakeholders;
  • Contribute to knowledge networks and communities of practice through the identification of best practices and lessons learned;
  • Review and update FS programmes with knowledge and research findings from International Journals;
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess progress made by targeted families and other partners and identify areas of improvement;
  • Conduct audits and take corrective actions. Ensure process compliance and the financial integrity of FS projects;
  • Develop an ecosystem that can collaborate and create deeper and wider impact;
  • Build a strong next level of leaders who can manage and execute their responsibilities independently and uphold the SOSCVI culture.

Additional Responsibilities.

  • Prepare IPD proposals, concept notes and terms of references, for future projects and activities for donors;
  • Represent the organisation at relevant external forums, to advocate and promote child rights, especially on issues linked to SOSCVI target groups and programmes;
  • Join relevant networks, forums, platforms, campaigns and working groups to advocate on behalf of the organisation for the promotion and protection of children’s rights, especially on issues linked to children at risk of losing the care of their families, or children without parental care;
  • Knowledge Management: Promote a knowledge sharing and learning culture at SOSCVI, based in-depth knowledge of development issues.

3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Applicants must be a post-graduate in Social Work, Behavioural Science, Psychology, Organization Development, Business Administration, or any other relevant discipline;
  • Candidates must have 10-15 years of experience, preferably in the social sector;
  • Prior experience in guiding senior workers in community work and resource mobilisation will be an advantage.

4. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

implementation and monitoring of all the Vocational Training Centres, Pan India according to
the project document and in coordination with the team leader at every location.

Responsibilities:
1. Project implementation and management

  • Plan, manage, and ensure implementation, of allthe Vocational Training Centres Pan India with the location centrehead.
  • Should be able to liaison with NSDC/SSCs and other state agencies engaged in skill development, Assessment & Certification and Placement and to get Accreditation of the SOS VTCs from NSDC/SSCs/State agencies as deemed fit.

Assistant Manager - Digital Marketing

Areas of Responsibility:

Social Media Strategic: (15%)

  • Devise strategies to grow the SOS Children’s Villages community on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.
  • Be creative and develop engaging social media content that’s aligned with the SOS CVI brand.
  • Digital Fundraising: (55%)
  • Devise and execute fundraising campaigns to garner revenues and ROI’s as per the business plan.

Market Research:
