SOS Children’s Villages India is extending support to flood-affected vulnerable families in Guwahati
Guwahati is witnessing incessant rains, causing displacement of many vulnerable families. SOS India has taken swift action to provide relief and support to over 300 affected families.
In addition to our relief efforts, we have established a 'Childcare Space' with the local administration. This vital facility provides a secure and engaging environment for children under the age of 10. Supervised by our dedicated women co-workers, the space equips with play materials, educational stationery and refreshments. This provision significantly alleviates the concerns of vulnerable families living in makeshift accommodations, ensuring that their children are safe and cared for while the community works towards recovery.
Based on a preliminary assessment, SOS India aims to provide immediate relief and restore normalcy in the lives of the affected families.
